Luggage weight with your air trip is a strict rule that one must abide by to make the trip comfortable and easy to go. The airline allows checked bags, carry-on luggage, and personal items. Airlines' Baggage Policy
You can go through the detailed explanation of the airline's baggage policy to carry bags along with the trip. The terms and conditions included in the policy are as follows:
- The number of bags you can carry on the airline shall depend on the fare class or the type of ticket you have purchased. Also, the weight and size restrictions shall follow this rule.
- For any connecting flights of a layover within 5 to 6 hours, you will not have to carry your checked bags.
- If the carried/ checked bag has no name or identification, and you have yet to receive it, you can contact the baggage lost and found at the counter for help.
- Each passenger can carry only one personal item on the flight, which must fit under the seat in front or in the overhead bin.
- Musical and Sports equipment are counted as one personal item. But the size of the minimum allowance must fit in.
Airlines Baggage Allowance
With your trip planned to any destination, if you are carrying bags, you can go through the airline's baggage allowance and then learn about the same.
1. Checked Baggage Allowance: You can carry one to two checked bags, which must be at most 50 to 60 lbs. And the overall size should be at most 60 to 70 inches. This shall vary depending on the fare class. Also, the maximum allowed weight is 80 lbs, and the size is up to 90 inches.
2. Carry-on Baggage Allowance: The maximum number of carry-on baggage allowed is 2. This size must not exceed 22X14X9 inches and weigh more than 10 kgs. The same must fit in the overhead bin.
3. Personal item Allowance: This must fit under the seat in front of you and should be smaller than the carry-on bags. You can carry free items: an umbrella, jacket, reading material, child seat safety, diaper bags, breast pumps, camera, pet carrier, etc.
Restricted items on board
Several items cannot be carried along with your travel on any airline. These items are listed below:
- You can carry alcohol with an alcohol percentage of less than 70%.
- Batteries less than 150 to 300 Wh are allowed.
- Sharp items like nail cutters, knives, and razors can only be carried in checked bags.
- Vapor and e-cigarettes are restricted items.
- Explosives, firearms, flammable solids, and liquids cannot be carried along the trip.
- Gasoline-powered tools can be carried in checked bags only. The same should be unused or new and in the original packaging.
- Any intoxicating materials cannot be carried on your trip.
- Avoid compressed gasses and pressurized containers during your flight trip.
